The Best Anti Virus 2008 : Seputar Informasi

Pada kuarter pertama 2008, AV-test.org yang bekerja sama dengan AV-Test GmbH (Jerman) mengadakan berbagai tes membandingkan sekitar 28 Antivirus. Produk yang diambil dari versi terbaik Antivirus yang diupdate 7 Januari 2008, tes dilakukan pada sistem operasi Windows XP SP2 (English).
Pengetesan meliputi :

• Signature-based test
• False-Positive test
• Proactive detection
• Reaction time
• Rootkit detection (12 active sample)

Signature-based test : tes ini untuk mengetahui akurasi Antivirus dalam mendeteksi berbagai jenis virus yang ada. Dalam tes ini digunakan beberapa sample virus, antara lain trojan horse, backdoors, bots dan worm yang berjumlah lebih dari 1 juta (1.024.381 sample), dan semuanya merupakan mallware yang menyebar selama 6 bulan terakhir.
False-Positive test : tes ini untuk mengetahui presentase kesalahan dalam mendeteksi file yang bersih. Pada tes ini digunakan 65.000 clean files.
Proactive detection : tes ini untuk mengetahui seberapa aktif Antivirus dalam mendeteksi virus-virus yang baru atau kemampuan mendeteksi ketika database virus belum diupdate. Selain iut juga kemampuan dalam mendeteksi virus yang dapat merubah diri.
Reaction time : tes ini untuk mengetahui seberapa cepat Antivirus menanggapi menyebarnya virus baru, berdasarkan 55 sample pada tahun 2007.
Rootkit detection : tes ini untuk mendeteksi keberadaan rootkit dengan menggunakan 12 sample.
